Your target roles and preferences drive job matching and scoring. They also pre-fill your searches.
Add your target roles
- Open Target Roles.
- Under Roles you are targeting, type a job title in Add a role title. Seniority (optional) is there if you want it.
- Select Add role. Repeat for each role.
- To remove a role, select the X on its tag.
If you have no roles yet, Add recommended roles loads a starter set aimed at cloud and security jobs. Skip it if that is not your field.
Set your search preferences
On the same page, under Search preferences, you can set:
- Target salary (USD) and Minimum salary (USD)
- Work mode: Any, Remote, Hybrid or Onsite
- Country (for job search). If you do not choose one, searches use the United States.
- Security clearance
- Preferred locations, separated by commas
- Excluded industries, separated by commas
- Require visa sponsorship and Willing to travel
Select Save preferences. You will see "Preferences saved."
What these do
- Your first target role is pre-filled when you open Find jobs.
- Auto-search from your Target Roles pulls fresh matches for every role and scores them. It runs nightly automatically, and you can also select Pull matches now.
The country setting is for job search. It is not a statement of where you live.
