Kivoo Apply requires two-step login, also called two-factor authentication. After you enter your password you also enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app.
Set it up
You are asked to do this the first time you sign in, on a page called Secure your account. You can also do it from Settings.
- Select Set up two-factor auth (in Settings the button reads Set up MFA).
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password. A manual key is shown if you cannot scan.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app and select Verify (or Confirm in Settings).
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe. They are shown only once. Each code works one time if you lose your authenticator.
Sign in with it
After your email and password, the Two-factor authentication page asks for the 6-digit code from your app, or one of your recovery codes. Enter it and select Verify.
Replace your authenticator
New phone? In Settings, in the Two-factor authentication (TOTP) card, enter your password under Confirm your password and select Replace authenticator. This replaces your old authenticator and issues new recovery codes.
Other protections
- After too many wrong passwords, the account is locked for a short time. The message says "Account temporarily locked. Try again in a few minutes."
- Sign-in has a human check. See Login problems if it will not finish.
- Resetting a forgotten password signs you out on every device.
Keep it safe
Keep your recovery codes private, in a place only you can open, such as your password manager. Lost both your phone and your recovery codes? Write to support@kivooapply.com.
